Micaelyn is a Guiyang girl... I knew her before she came home to be with her forever family. She had some surgery last week and is having a difficult time with everything... She was hooked to ventilator and had an NG tube for a while... then on top of that so she wouldn't hurt herself they had to restrain her arms and sedate her to a near coma state... my heart goes out to her and her family... please pray for her and her family.

As if we were there...

As many of you know Jen and I were planning to move our family to China this past year. As much as we were sure that God was asking us to do that, it was also apparent to us that it wasn’t the right time to do that. So now we wait for His time.

Lately God has been speaking to me about this… What has he been saying you ask?

He’s been telling me, “We need to live here, as if we were there.” And this morning I really get the feeling that this message just isn’t for me and my family. It’s so apparent that it’s something that we, who call ourselves followers of Christ, all need to live this way.

Who has believed our message?

To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm?

My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot,

like a root in dry ground.

There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance,

nothing to attract us to him.

He was despised and rejected—

a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.

We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.

He was despised, and we did not care.

Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;

it was our sorrows that weighed him down.

And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,

a punishment for his own sins!

But he was pierced for our rebellion,

crushed for our sins.

He was beaten so we could be whole.

He was whipped so we could be healed.

All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.

We have left God’s paths to follow our own.

Yet the Lord laid on him

the sins of us all.

He was oppressed and treated harshly,

yet he never said a word.

He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.

And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,

he did not open his mouth.

Unjustly condemned,

he was led away.

No one cared that he died without descendants,

that his life was cut short in midstream.

But he was struck down

for the rebellion of my people.

He had done no wrong

and had never deceived anyone.

But he was buried like a criminal;

he was put in a rich man’s grave.

But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him

and cause him grief.

Yet when his life is made an offering for sin,

he will have many descendants.

He will enjoy a long life,

and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands.

When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish,

he will be satisfied.

And because of his experience,

my righteous servant will make it possible

for many to be counted righteous,

for he will bear all their sins.

I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier,

because he exposed himself to death.

He was counted among the rebels.

He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.

We were blessed with the opportunity to meet with Jon Cassel - a Regional Director from CBN International this morning. We shared with him about V2b and how we're working to help Orphans. We thank Jon for taking the time to meet with us while he was in the area. Overall the meeting went well and we look forward to the opportunity of working with CBN in the future.

i don't want you to like me... i don't want you to think i am someone special... i don't want you to think i am a great person... i don't want you to do any of these things because of the things i do. Because i am NOT a great person. i'm not even a good person. i don't read my bible like a good christian should... i don't act like Christians should act... i always mess up and sin "everyday"... i am the "most" wretched person i know... so i don't want you to like me!!!! STOP IT!!! i would rather you hate me.

i do the things i do because because GOD has unequivocally wrecked my heart to care for the least of the least... when i see them, i see HIM... and i feel what HE feels for these children.

People constantly tell me... "Oh I think the things you do are so great!!!"... and, "Oh your such a great person for the things you do"... if you only knew the truth and how messed up i am...

Honestly... everytime i hear that... it hurts me deeply inside... Because when people say those things, there looking at me... and not hearing what i'm trying to tell them about. i would rather you hate me, but hear what i'm saying. Because it's not me that's saying it... it's GOD in me! Trying to tell "YOU" about the things that HE cares SO DEEPLY about. Like the child that died last fall... because we, "Vision To Becca", couldn't provide a larger space for our friends to take in more children. The thought of that completely wrecks me inside. i wish YOU could feel what i feel inside... LORD please make them feel what i feel!!!

Won't you please listen to what i'm saying! Stop saying that you think i'm great!!! There are lives at stake here! There are children dying!!! i know your trying to encourage me.... but STOP doing that and start doing something to help!!!

i'm trying dear Lord, to do all that i can... but all of it won't matter if they won't listen!!! Dear Lord make them please listen!!! Speak through me LORD, use me ANY... WAY... YOU... want... ANY... WAY... YOU... can. i give myself COMPLETELY to YOU! But God, to be honest... it hurts so bad... it hurts my heart SO much... when people hear but don't listen and then don't do anything about it!

PLEASE... i "BEG" YOU ALL... HATE ME... but PLEASE hear what i have to say... these children need your help! these children need your Families! these children are DYING without YOU!!! i DO ALL THAT i CAN, BUT i CAN'T DO IT ALONE!!! i can't provide for these children without YOU!

oh... and just so you know... if you "like" this note... it's gonna rip my heart out...

WFTC Kick-a-Thon...

Last Saturday Warriors For The Cross under the instruction of Master Bryan Sanker held a Kick-a-Thon to benefit Vision To Becca.

Bryan is also V2b board member and a good friend, brother, and mentor of mine. Warriors For The Cross is the most successful and "only" Christian based martial arts classes anywhere in the area.

I know Bryan will not boast about this but I'm quite impressed with his school consisting of himself a 4th Degree Master in Tang Soo Do from the International Christian Martial Arts Association, and approximately Two 3rd Degree Black Belts, Four 2nd Degree Black Belts, and 10-12 1st Degree Black Belts! Not to forget about the numerous colored belts like myself. All while teaching the art of Tang Soo Do, not from it's origins of inner chi and mother earth like many others like it, but BOASTING the Power of the Lord JESUS CHRIST!!!

He has been challenging his students, mostly the black belts, to attempt 1000 kicks for this event. I myself never having done anything close to that was trying to complete 500 which would have more than doubled the most that I had ever done before.

The day of the event we had about 26 participants ranging from himself all the way down to the lowest rank of white belt. Upon completion all but a hand full remained and ended up exceeded his challenge by completing...

total kicks!!!

and raising over $2300!!!

I extend a great hand of thankfulness to Master Sanker and "ALL" of his students for enduring such a task to help provide for the needs of the least of these.

Three weeks ago I started taking Tang Soo Do classes with "Warriors For The Cross", instructed by my good friend and bro Bryan Sanker. Bryan is a 4th degree Master in the ICMA and has one of the only Christian Martial Arts classes that I know of anywhere. It's very much more a ministry than a business for him.

Warriors For The Cross is holding a Kick-a-thon to benefit Vision To Becca on March 12th at the Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Allport, PA. I will be participating in this event and I'm looking for people to sponsor me... My goal is to do 400 kicks! A penny a kick... A nickle, a dime, a dollar! Whatever your willing... or how about sponsoring a $ amount, if i reach my goal!!! that would really push me to get to 400!!!

How the Sun Stood Still for the Pusey's....

OK so this is how God made the sun stand still for the Pusey Family last night!

The story starts at about 7pm... I was reading our children there School lesson from a book called Missionary Stories. The story last night was about a missionary in Korea that that was doing revival services, during the rainy season, and they didn't have a space big enough for all the people to attend, about 15 - 20,000! So he prayed and asked God to stop the rain for the revival so they could have the services outside, and God did stop the rain. After 3 days of no rain the rice farmers started to worry, so they went to the evangelist and asked him if the rain would start again. So the man told them that he would pray that when the services ended that the rain would start again, And it did.

This is similar to another story in the old testament about Joshua, in Joshua 10 and the kids and I talked about this. Except for Joshua God made the Sun Stand Still!!!

Joshua 10:12-13 On the day the Lord gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the Lord in front of all the people of Israel. He said, “Let the sun stand still over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies. Is this event not recorded in The Book of Jashar? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and it did not set as on a normal day.

Wes then speaks up and says I think we should ask God to stop the clouds long enough for us to see the moon tonight... So we did, me and my 3 children each prayed and asked God to stop the clouds long enough for us to see the eclipse.

The weather man on TV even said that no one would be able to see it because of the clouds.

At 130 am the clouds were intermittent but you could still see some of the moon as it transition. By 230 am there was a beautiful clear sky above us too See God's Glory in the Eclipsed Moon above! I could even see the clouds gathering from the north... but they never blocked our view of the moon! Amy wanted to pray and thank God for the clear sky... so of course we did... I'm so proud of my kids!!! God Bless them! We stayed up until 315am taking shifts out in the cold and back in to get warm. Then we went to bed.

At about 330 am i went to take one last look... and the clouds fully covered the sky and the moon wasn't even visible!!! Thank you God for letting the Sun Stand Still for me and my children!!!

I feel ashamed... that I don't do more to help other people. That I live the life I live... in richness and wealthiness... it makes me sick to my stomach. I don't have a dish, an iPhone, or a Harley... I live paycheck to paycheck... I have a car with 200,000 miles on it... I have no savings... but still I am in the wealthiest %2 of the worlds population... What can I do?

People tell us that we are such good people because of the things we do... that comment honestly disturbs me... When I feel that we could and should do so much more. We aren't doing "anything" that "any" other person "can" and "should" be doing. Because of this, I feel that I'm not a good person... just a person like anyone else. God has not given me more than anyone else.

I know there are people that read this blog... but for some reason I never get any comments...

So with this post I'm going to say up front... I want everyone that reads this to give a comment. Please! That means EVERYONE! =]

How do you hear from God... How do you know that God is speaking to you.... How does God speak to you?

Sometimes I have a hard time determining whether or not it's God, or me? God made me a very emotional person... seeing children in an orphanage being mistreated effects me in a very deep and personal way... many times throughout any given day when I see or hear something, break down into tears.

I'm always looking for the next thing... most times very impatiently... sometimes I over step my boundaries doing in. But now I have people in my life that help control that aspect of me. When I step the wrong way or jump to fast I give them permission to speak into my life, where I can listen to what they tell me and assess if I need to reevaluate what I've done. Most times they are correct. But am I limiting God's vision this way, by limiting my Zeal?

So, then there are times when things like this kind of drive me crazy thinking about them... like today. Yesterday i was struggling with a few things and this morning when i woke up I felt, just completely worn out... I think I was struggling with it even in my sleep last night. So realizing this I decided that this is not good for me, or is it???

Maybe God wants me to be disturbed about these things... disturbed to the point that it even effects my sleep and how I function... I hope this is what it is... because I unrelentlessly, completely, and overwhelmingly want God to move in my life so that I can glorify Him by being His hands and feet and leading people to Christ.

The first thing I listened to this morning... not planned by the way... was a message by Clayton King at New Spring Church on Fasting... I've listened to a lot of things recently on the same subject and heard it talked about in general conversation several times, always standing out to me... the thing that stands out to me the most is this statement... "When your desperate to hear from God and see Him move in your life like never before... you need to Fast and Pray."

I think God's speaking to me... What do you think?

This morning, I heard a pastor say something like this... "When you first get saved and read the bible you don't question what it says..."

My thoughts... Why do we question it after we've been a Christian for 5, 10, 15 etc. years??? Are we trying to justify ourselves by saying that we're trying to learn it better? Do we know better than God? Of course not.

"I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." - Mark 10:15

Father help me come to you for who you are... my Savior, and not question You so that I can be obedient to your Word.

Growing People Change...

This week I've been listening to a message series called "I love the 80's" By Perry Noble from NewSpring Church in Anderson Indiana. Click on the link and check it out.

I really like Perry's style and how he's not afraid to tell you anything. I've learned that I need to hear things like that in my life. That's how God speaks to me and get's me to change things so I can continue to grow. Just like NewSpring's core values states... "Growing People Change". I believe that 100%, that any one of us that call ourselves Christians or Christ followers should be able to look back over the past year and see change in our lives... that's what Jesus does, He changes people, and He'll continue to do that if you keep pressing into Him and wanting to Grow. If you're looking back right now and don't see change, then you need to do something different. If you keep doin what your doin then you'll keep gettin what you got. I don't know about you, but I'm not satisfied with what I got... because I want more!

Romans 12:2 - And do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Vision, Worship, and Prayer Meeting

We are planning to gather together to seek God's Vision for V2b on a new level like never before. We will be holding a "Vision, Worship, and Prayer" Meeting on October 14th from 7PM until ???. This event is open to anyone who would like to attend. I would like to encourage all that attend to "Fast" the entire day before the meeting. Come expecting God to show up!

V2b Road Rally

V2b will be holding it's first ever Fundraiser Road Rally October 24th in Clearfield, PA. Entry will cost only $5 per person, sign ups begin at 4PM. This will be an "Amazing Race" type event where participants will get clues and riddles to find the next location. After completing the Rally there will be a Chili Dinner and items for sale to benefit V2b. The starting location is yet to be determined... please stop back to find out.

Why did George Mueller care for Orphans???

Mueller’s three chief reasons, in his own words, for establishing an Orphan-House are: 1. That God may be glorified, should He be pleased to furnish me with the means, in its being seen that it is not a vain thing to trust in Him; and that thus the faith of His children may be strengthened. 2. The spiritual welfare of fatherless and motherless children. 3. Their temporal welfare.

He stated… It seemed to me best done, by the establishing of an Orphan-House. It needed to be something which could be seen, even by the natural eye. Now, if I, a poor man, simply by prayer and faith, obtained, without asking any individual, the means for establishing and carrying on an Orphan-House: there would be something which, with the Lord's blessing, might be instrumental in strengthening the faith of the children of God besides being a testimony to the consciences of the unconverted, of the reality of the things of God. This, then, was the primary reason, for establishing the Orphan-House. . . The first and primary object of the work was, (and still is) that God might be magnified by the fact, that the orphans under my care are provided, with all they need, only by prayer and faith, without any one being asked by me or my fellow-laborers, whereby it may be seen, that God is FAITHFUL STILL, and HEARS PRAYER STILL.

I have just submitted orders for 319 hoagies and pizzas that were ordered for our most recent fundraiser.

When it comes to raising funds there are many ways to go about it. I admit, i'm no expert... that's for sure. I found this article that describes different techniques for Missions Fundraising.

The following are methods historically employed by some different missionaries and ministries:

1. The Mueller approach - don't tell anyone, just pray. It works, but you need to understand that you will sit down to empty tables with this method. The food only appears after you are seated. Mueller wasn't about fund raising, he was about ministry. That was his focus and he left the fund raising or lack thereof to God. But the people knew, and they spread the word, and food appeared. He had a great unspoken support team. Many good small ministries operate in our cities and churches this way today. We need to gossip about them more to enlarge the base. The common folk caught the vision, his life and example connected with them at a feeling level and they responded with open hearts.

2. The Wycliffe way - in groups and individually, ask for prayer, don't share the financial need unless asked. But we all knew that we needed to ask them, because we were about supporting missionaries. And we pulled the details out of them.

3. The DL Moody approach - share the financial needs and appeal for action.

4. The Campus Crusade approach - a direct ask for money over a businessman lunch. Direct, logical, spell out the vision, the need and that God is calling you to be part of the answer. Colorful brochures and presentation notebooks are desirable. Great for businessmen, executive types, leaders, thinkers. Overwhelming to the common folks who support me.

I would have to say that I like the Mueller approach.

George Mueller by age 10 was a thief, liar, and a gambler. He even stole government money from his father and when his mother was dying he was playing card with friends and drinking.

But after his conversion he became a Christian evangelist and Director of orphanages in Bristol, England, cared for 10,024 orphans in his life. He was well-known for providing an education to the children under his care, to the point where he was accused of raising the poor above their natural station in life. He also established 117 schools which offered Christian education to over 120,000 children, many of them being orphans.

In all of this, he never asked one person on earth to provide for financial support. He only asked God. This way only God can get the glory.

Great news for the 147 million children that need loving mom's and dad's! -- WP<><

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--The adoption agency Bethany Christian Services says interest from couples in adopting is significantly ahead of what it was last year, a trend that is being seen elsewhere and, adoption leaders say, is an example of a growing adoption movement among Christians.

International adoption placements through Bethany are up 66 percent this year compared to last year while inquiries about international adoption are up 95 percent, the agency reported July 19. Domestic infant adoption interest also is up: Applications are up 23 percent and home studies up 15 percent.

Focus...

Last weekend my family and I had a first time ever experience. We ended up with our vehicle broken down sitting along the road.

We were driving up the interstate and my wife and I were engrossed in conversation. I love that about us, we can talk and talk about things for miles and miles... it's great! Well as I talked to her I was looking over at her and ended up going over the yellow line to the left and in the process hit the rumble strips along the edge. No big deal right??? I think we've all probably done this before.

The problem was when this all happened the back drivers side wheel made a terrible clunk sound, then followed by a vibration and something that sounded like a flat tire. I immediately crossed over to the right lane and off the road.

When I got out to inspect the inevitable damage... I saw nothing... I looked under over all around and nothing. What the heck??? So I got back in and tried it again and the noise was still there. Perplexed, I got out the jack and lifted the van up, took off the tire and still, nothing. So long story short I ended up limping our van off the highway, to a very near-by exit, while it was making all sorts of weird metallic noises, then walked to a store about 1/2 mile away to ask if there was anyone near-by that could tow us. Ended up getting towed wasting the whole day and costing us about $400.

In case you were wondering, we were on our way to Northway Christian Community in Wexford, PA to go to church and then have our final pre-trip meeting with our China team that's leaving this Sunday.

When I got the van back to our house I took apart the wheel and discovered that the entire emergency brake system inside the rear disc brake came apart. I took all the parts out and put the disc back on and had the van running in less than an hour. It's not completely fixed, I need to replace all the parts, but we're able to drive it.

It just occurred to me this morning... I could have asked the garage that towed me home, costing me almost $400 to borrow a 14mm wrench... then got the van running myself and drove us to our meeting or home depending on what time it was.

Have you ever been so focused on one thing that you let the easier solution pass you by? Have you ever been so focused that you ended up missing what God really wanted to happen? I was so focused on getting the van and my family home, I ended missing the better solution.

Dear God, if I'm ever too focused on one thing that I might miss You and Your solution. Please pull down my blinders so that I would see that Your way is the only way.

Provision...

The other day I heard a story on KLOVE Radio station that I've been thinking about ever since.

(This is just a paraphrase of the original story)

You see there was a single mom that was barely making ends meet and she came down with something that required to go to the hospital several times. In traveling back and forth she came to need additional money for gas costs. She was tempted to ask people for money, but instead she decided to just pray and ask God to provide for her. She never told anyone of her problem, except God in prayer.

About a week later she got a call from her ex-husband. He explained to her that he had been thinking about her problem and thought that she may need some help with money, so he decided to buy her some gas cards.

The whole time she was telling this story she kept remarking that "She never told anyone, just prayed". Praise God!!!

This is what I want for V2b. For God to make provision for us. For us to never look to ourselves and make things happen because that's the way that we want it to be. That way God will always get the Glory!!!

About 2 years ago My wife and I made the difficult choice to switch churches. There were a few reasons why, that don’t need mentioned. But mostly I believe it was just God calling us to a different place.

About 6 months after we attended our new church the pastor asked to have supper with my wife and I. Over dinner we shared our testimony with his wife and him, and then he mentioned that after much prayer he felt that I would be a good candidate for the Campus Pastor at the new Clearfield Campus that the church wanted to start. Wow, a pastor… Really???!!! I had been discipled and taken pastoral training at my old church, but never thought… and now was facing a great opportunity! I relished in this, thinking of possibilities, and of course it’s always a great thing when someone sees something about you that you may not see in yourself. I mean I’ve prayed several times that God would open a door for me to be in full time ministry. But now it was staring me right in the eyes.

All the while, I never told my pastor yes, that I would take the job. Because I knew that God had spoken to my wife and I about doing ministry in China. It was a very confusing time, and I struggled with which way I should go. Could this be a stepping stone to China? or just maybe what God wants me to do instead. See and open door I started walking toward the idea of being a pastor, taking the opportunity to work with the leadership team and work on another campus plant that the church had done, and in doing so I learned so much about being a leader.

But, then last August (2009) God spoke to me very clearly, telling me to sell all our stuff and come follow Him to China. (Mark 10:21) The first person I had to tell was my Pastor… it was like breaking bad news to someone, I was very nervous, what would he think? When the deed was done, he handled it well. Although I could tell he was a little disappointed, he offered the total support of the church.

We have been heading that way ever since. But every once and a while I find myself questioning whether I made the right decision. I mean a Campus Pastor, that would be a really Sweet Gig for sure! Being a missionary is really not that glamorous at all. That is, when it’s you doing it. I mean selling all your stuff, getting rid of your house, quitting your awesome job at Penn State University, people tell us we’re crazy all the time.

Yesterday I get a call about some the leaders at our church having a meeting with the people from the Clearfield campus area, and they wanted to know if I wanted to be there. Basically the meeting was about what the Clearfield people from our church needed to be doing for us to be able to plant a campus there and also discussing the lack of a candidate for the pastor position. When I got off the phone, I couldn’t help but wonder… am I making the right decision??? So I prayed, "God I need a little affirmation right now, can you help me out and let me know that I’m doing the right thing?" (honestly thinking in the back of my head, how is He going to do that right now???) As I walked through the living room and into our office, I tripped over a box that was on the floor. I looked at it and saw it was addressed to me…. Hmmm, Oh yeah! That’s the box that one of our supporters was sending me! So like a kid on Christmas morning I grabbed the box and proceeded in tearing opening it. YES!!! A whole box of “Butt Cream”! Wahoo! Donations for the Foster Care Network!!! There was also an envelope inside marked “Be Blessed!” so I proceeded in opening it. Inside, I found a Vision To Becca sponsorship form indicating that the family wanted to bless Vision To Becca with a $500 one time gift… It was the affirmation that I just prayed for, minutes ago. It was also an answer to God’s provision for His ministry... Vision to Becca. We needed $750 to pay for our non-profit registration… we had $300, and until then I didn't know where the rest would come from.

That’ll do Lord, That’ll do. To Him be the Glory!

My wife and I attended Family Life's "A Weekend to Remember" last weekend. All I can say is if your married, you need to GO! It was an amazing weekend that we will not forget anytime soon.

This marriage conference is not just for people that are having marital problems, like my wife and I. Before the conference we thought that our marriage was in pretty good shape. Since going, we found out that that seems true... We are in pretty good shape, and it was great to have that reaffirmed in us, but as in any marriage we also have areas that we need to work on, and we got to learn and talk about those things openly together with no distractions.

But like anything you will only get out of it what you put into it. If you go then give 100%, and I'll guarantee that you will get 100% back.

I love the slogan for this event, "Love like you mean it". Oh how quickly we forget to do that with our spouse when life sets in.

One last thing, I was impressed by the ministry itself. They truly have a heart for what they do. They offer many discounts like buy 1 registration and your spouse comes free. Also they worked a deal with the hotel to knock the regular room rate from $350/night to $129. $129 is still a lot but definitely better than $350. I truly believe that they do whatever they can to help couples come to there event, and that they're not just out to make $. Heck the speakers at our event, who by the way were awesome, were even volunteers, not getting paid $.01 for working and presenting all weekend.

Bad Perspective...

What is Perspective? Anybody know the definition???

I want to focus on "b." in this post.

My wife and I were watching American Idol last night. Anyone else see it??? They were doing an outreach of some kind, collecting donations for food banks in the USA. Amongst the asking for money they also were showing videos of people that the food was being donated for.

Now, I'm all for giving to needy people. I help people in my community every chance I get, and thats often. But I think that "us" as American's have a "Bad Perspective" on what "Need" really is. The thing that My wife noticed was that most of the people that they interviewed, the people that were getting the donations, they were overweight. So that makes me wonder... are they really "Needy?" or are they just living beyond their means? I mean do they have too much debt? Do they have too big of a house?

You know my grandfather never took a loan for a car in his life... he didn't believe in credit. He took the stand, if i don't have the money for then I don't need it. He would save and save until he had enough to buy and car and then would pay in cash... and in turn probably got better deals than the rest of us because of it.

We live in a country that if you really want to achieve something... no matter who you are... you CAN! if you want to be a rocket scientist, you can... if you want to be a senator, you can... heck if you want to be the President, you can (this one might be harder...lol, but just look at Obama's grass roots story). Also if you wanna be an unemployed bum and live off of the wealth of the rest of the country, you can. I know lots of people and see lots of people do this every day. My point is, whatever you apply yourself towards, you can do in the good old USA. You can be as big or as little as you want to be.

Where I think out perspective is out of whack is looking at the rest of the world. In the greatness of being a country where we can live in freedom and be all we wanna be, we have also become the most selfish country in the world. It's all about me, myself, and I and no more. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Everyone in this country needs to go to a real needy country to see and understand what need really is. The older people in the US still understand what it's about. But in their effort to not allow their children and grand children not live like they did, we ended up being a bunch of spoiled brats.

So when you think that you need something, try to put it in perspective... do you really need it? Or, do you just want it. And to help do that learn more about people that live outside the USA, especially real poverty stricken nations. Better yet make the opportunity to visit one, like Haiti, and go there to help them and serve them in some way.

What's in a name???

A lot of people ask, "Vision to Becca"... where did that come from? How did you come up with that name? What does it mean?

Vision to Becca is where God's story started in our lives.

Almost 7 years ago is when it all started. My wife Jenny was a Christ Follower, I was not. She had just given birth to our son Wes and when he was about a month old she started getting these urges that she needed another child. She didn't understand... She thought she was crazy, especially because she just had a baby and hadn't even completely recovered from that yet. She spent several days and sleepless nights completely confused about her emotions. Then one day she received an issue of Newsweek and on the cover was an article entitled about Genetic Gender selection. But that wasn't the article that gave her the answer... a much smaller article was the one that grabbed her. It was entitled, "No Girls, Please"

"For 80 cents, says Devi, who is now retired, a dai will help a woman give birth. For 80 cents more, she will take a newborn girl, hold her upside down by the waist and "give a sharp jerk," snapping the spinal cord. She will then declare the infant stillborn. "Many couples insist that we get rid of the baby girl at birth," Devi says. "What can we do?"

Jenny finally understood what was going on. She needed to adopt a child and more importantly save a life. Throughout the next several months God slowly revealed to her, His plan for our lives. We were to adopt a little girl with special needs from China. But how???

Long story short... She prayed, I got saved, and God shared his plan with me... it took a while but I eventually came around. First to the idea of adoption and then to the idea of special needs adoption.

Our agency "A Helping Hand Adoption Agency" put out a special needs listing in November of 2005. Jenny and I prayed all day asking God to show us who He wanted us to have. I mean... how could we pick just one??? As we prayed we were talking about a little girl our agency named Becca. Our Son Wes walked into the room and asked Jen what we were doing. She told him and then asked him to look at all the pictures of the little girls and tell us who he wanted for his little sister. He looked at the pictures and then pointed to the little girl named Becca. Jen and I looked at each other both rather stunned, that we were just talking about the same girl. Suddenly it hit me... maybe we were onto something??? So I called Billy into the room and asked him the same question. He looked at the pictures, and without hesitation said... "That one", pointing directly at Becca again.

Well long story even shorter... Becca is our daughter Amy. When we went to China to Adopt her we found out that her foster parents called her Amy. Amy's middle name is Rebecca.

So there you have it... Vision to Becca... all started with a Vision that God gave us for a little girl that we first knew as Becca. Our lives have never been the same since.

Anyone remember these jackets from the 80's? I use to have one. Cheap, but stylish... the best of both worlds. If I recall mine wasn't warm at all either. It was just for the style. Nothin like a thin piece of pleather to make you look good! ;)

As many of you know we have formed a Non-Profit Organization named Vision to Becca, Inc. This organization was formed to become the Love of Christ to oppressed and destitute children in the World. Our Vision is “To help enable children of the world become healthy, confident, productive, educated, Christ followers who feel worthy, respected, & Loved as well as willing to share these gifts with others.” The motto for V2b is “Be The Love” which comes from 1 John 4:8 – “But anyone who does not Love does not know God, for God is Love” and we want to dedicate our lives to this work. It is truly our hearts desire to “Be The Love” of God to the People that we serve no matter who they are or where they are in the world.

We are so blessed to have the support of all of “You”, helping us make God’s plan in our lives and the lives of these children possible. Jesus tells us in Matthew 10, "if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.” We stand on God’s word that you will be greatly rewarded for the support that you have given us and will continue to give us in the future.

We will be starting to now raise the support that will be required for us to live and serve in China. We are praying for 100 people or churches to stand in the gap with us and sponsor us with $30 per month. This will raise the $3000 dollars of living support that it will take for us to serve in China. This money will go towards our living expenses, enable us to foster children in our home, helping the immediate needs of the children in Hope’s House, and any other needs that may arise on a day to day basis. One day we may be providing for medical needs of children, another day we may be feeding the poor or spreading the word of God. Either way we would be blessed to have you with us on this journey.

We will be starting to schedule speaking engagements and would “LOVE” to come and tell your Church, Group, or Conference more about V2b and the children we serve. We “will” travel too, so don’t think you’re too far away for us to visit. Anything we can do, your request is not too bogus, help us help you to spread the word about V2b. Just give us a call or send us an email and we’d be glad to set something up at your earliest convenience.

Last but not least, one final way that you can show your support for V2b is through “membership”. And membership has privileges! As a member of V2b you will practically be on the front lines with us. You will be helping us stay accountable and make the hard decisions that this organization must make. You will also get an exclusive invitation to our Annual Members Meeting. We offer “Individual” memberships for $25 per year and “Organization” memberships for $100 per year.

What's up?!?!?

Well it's been a while since I've posted, but there's been lots going on.

Vision to Becca is now a reality! We are Incorporated, had our first meeting last week placing our board of directors on place. President - Wescott Pusey; Vice President - Gerald Knepp; Treasurer - Donna Bitner; Secretary - Denise Mullens; Officer - Bryan Sanker.

We are currently in the process of filling out the 27 page document required to apply for Non-Profit status. Hopefully this will be filed in the next few weeks. Marci Nebgen from Integrity Services has been such a blessing to us in this process! If you need accounting work please go to see her and bless her!

Bryan Sanker and Myself are currently planning on traveling with us from May 22nd to June 6th to visit the foster care network families and do some prayer walking. I am also so blessing to be able to share this trip with my father William Pusey. It was 1993 the last time that Him and I were able to take a trip together just the two of us. Please pray with us for the success of our trip! June 1st is Children's day and we will be meeting with all of the families and their Children! I'll be sure to post some great pictures when we return!

My Sweet...

On February 7th I got the honor and privilege to speak in front of our church about my story. The message was entitled "Generous Going" and the pastor wanted to use me as an example for others to follow. Why me? I'm not really special? There are others that have done just as much and even more with their lives in Christ. The only answer I have is that God must have wanted me to glorify Him with my life, and that's simply what I did.

I spoke at 2 services one at our main church and the other at our Downtown Campus. Although 4 services and about 1000 people heard what I had to say via video. The first service was Saturday evening. Our Pastor Dave Bish started and then I filled in the middle and Dave summed it up the end with the conclusion. When the whole service was finished many people came to greet me as they left the service... one of them was my own Sweet Amy. "Sweet" is what I call her, like a nickname. When she arrived home from China the first time, I would call her Sweet Heart but for some reason it always came out simply "Sweet" minus the Heart. So then it just stuck. She will always be my Sweet.

So when she came to me after the service that night she had something to ask me. She said, with a smile on her face (she always smiles a beautiful smile), "Daddy why didn't you want to adopt a little girl from China?"... Wow, what a moment... I've told my story with her present several times before, but I guess this was the first time that she paid attention or comprehended what I was saying. This time she listened. What do you say to your "Sweet", when she asks you a question like this?

Let me explain about her question... there was a time about 7 years ago now that I wanted nothing to do with adoption. I was a very different man then because I did not have Christ in my heart every day like I do now. When Jenny told me that she wanted to adopt a little girl from China, I said, "No Way!" these were my exact words. I also told her things like, "We were blessed to have our own children so why should we adopt an orphan?", "Orphans were for couples that couldn't have their own children.", and "I would rather spend the $20,000 that it would take to adopt a child on a new car." All of these things I mentioned in my talk to the church that night.

So now here I am and my little Sweet has a moment of reckoning... Was a time when I didn't want her? How could I have ever thought the way I did back then? ...I don't know... now I look into my Sweets eyes and think... How could I ever imagine my life without her? I explained to her how God changed my heart and told me about a little girl named Amy that lived in China and I would Love forever. That I will always Love forever no matter what happened.

Last night, as we sat down to supper, Amy asked, "But who's going to say the blessing?" so I said, "Do you want to say it?" and she replied with a big Bright smile, "YES!" so she did. She gave thanks for our meal and many other things and then after a big Amen, we continued with our meal. When supper was over we had some ice cream in the freezer so I dished out some desert for us all. And as we all sat down to eat once more Amy asks again, "Who's going to give the blessing for our ice cream?" Oh how those words blessed my heart to hear her say them! It makes me realize that she is becoming more and more conscious that God does exist in our lives and our family. So again Amy prayed, giving thanks for many things again, including the desert we had, but the one that caught my attention was when she said,

"Dear God, thank you for letting daddy adopt a little girl in China."

V2B is now a registered Corporation and will be applying for non-profit status in the very near future. My wife wrote this late last night and I liked it. So I thought I would share it with you. Be blessed! - WP <><

Well, 8 years ago today I became a mother for the first time. I remember looking at Billy thinking, "what do I do with this??" He didn't come with directions. Parenting is definitely "learn as you go!" What was it even like without kids? Taking naps whenever I wanted, jumping in the "car" (now it's a minivan) and only worrying about MY seat belt, holding only 1 plate at the buffet, toy-free rooms, peeing in private, etc. What was that like??? What did I do with all that freedom? I certainly didn't realize 8 years ago how much EVERYTHING changes when you have kids. I guess I just thought, "Oh, Scott, let's have a baby, they're cute". Did somebody tell me what I was in for?? Did I just ignore what they said? And what were we thinking to have 3?? And what was I thinking to have a daycare in the middle of my own "3 ring circus". Now, the plan is to move to China to take in even MORE kids! Someone tell me how messed up I am! Only an amazing, awesome God could be responsible for this. If someone 8 years ago would've told me where I would be now, I wouldn't have believed them. If someone 8 years ago told me the Lord could do these things to me, I wouldn't have believed them. I actually think I would've been terrified! Thank you Lord for not scaring me away. I place all my confidence in You. Have Your way in me! Happy Birthday Billy!

Dear Amy,

Today is a Special Day! Today is your special day. It has been 3 years since we came to get you in China. You were only 2 years old then but now you are 5. This was the day that God chose to make you a part of our lives. I would never give that day back for anything.

You are so beautiful and always know how light up a room. You are very generous always willing to give up things for others to make them happy. I love you so much and pray God’s blessings over you for your future.

Because of that day 3 years ago so many things have changed in my life. God has done many great things in my life and you are among the greatest of these. I know that God has great things planned for you in your life because of the miraculous way that He has brought you into ours. And I know that’s only the start of the great things that He has planned for you. I pray that you and your husband and your children have many years of happiness serving God together. I ask God’s blessings upon you and your life.

What a Wonderful Day...

What a wonderful day... Three years ago on this day we received our Amy... I would never give back that day for anything. We had people say that we were crazy for doing what we did... but today those same people praise our little girl every time they... see her. Thank you God for the blessings in our lives and for including us in Your plans. Because of that day we have been to China 3 times to visit the same Foster Care Network that Amy was a part of, to support the children they care for. We're currently planning a 4th trip next year, starting a non-profit organization to help handle funding and support for these children, and hoping to live in China someday to help even more of these... Read More children. Oh You are a Wonderful God and why You chose us I will only know when I stand before You. But now, I thank You for letting us be a part of Your plan. Praise You dear Lord, may You get all the Glory.

Stop thinking about yourselves America!!! There are people in this world that are dieing every day from circumstances they can't control. Especially the Children, they have no choice to whether they are abused in orphanages, raped by there own parents, or maybe just left to die because there parents have to chose between their own life or the life of the child.

We're in the richest nation in the world and all we care about is whether or not we can pay our bills. Bills that we made from buying stuff that we don't really need. Think about this.... your garage is better than the homes of most of these people in poverty... Myself included... my garage has clean running water, a bathroom, heat, and insulation!!! Won't you wake up and realize that we have the opportunity to do something to help these people. All we think about is going to work and gettin a paycheck so we can buy more stuff and live our comfortable lives. WE'LL I'M SICK OF IT!!!

Had a Bitter/Sweet night last night. After 3 1/2 years teaching Bible Studies at Quehanna Boot Camp State Prison I have stepped down to concentrate on moving to China. It was one of the hardest things I think I've ever done. But in order for us to grow sometimes we need to let go. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Lord send more workers into Your harvest field.

So there's been recent changes in our lives that God has been showing us. I'll write more about that later. But I read Vince's Blog this morning and thought, "Isn't God just awesome like that.", I've been telling everyone about how scared I am of this next step in our lives, so He tells me that everything is going to be OK... through Vince. BTW this isn't the first time He's done this through Vince. Oh well, read what Vince wrote.

Faith, and Throwing Up In Your Mouth
So let's pretend you know squadoosh about the Bible, and I tell you about a story where a boss entrusts $5,000, $2,000, and $1,000 to three employees. And I explain that the first two use it as venture capital for new businesses, or invest it in the stock market, while the third very carefully puts it in a safe place so he can return it to the master. Who would you say was faithful with his boss' money? The third, right? Sure. You don't risk someone else's money!

But in today's chapter (Matthew 25) Jesus tells that story, and says that the first two were the faithful one's! When I think of the word "faithful" I tend to think loyal and steadfast. But the word means "full of faith." And we learn, throughout the Bible, that faith is believing in something we cannot see and moving forward (despite our fear) into an unknown future because we believe it's where God is calling us. So what does faith look like? What does it feel like? Well, risk. Faith looks and feels like risk. And I think that's part of the point of Jesus' story. If you have faith, you'll take risks. And if you're not taking risks, you don't have faith.

I need to hear that right now. Everyone told me that leaving my great church and great life in Virginia Beach, to start a church on the Strip - in the very heart of of Sin City, was a huge risk. And I guess it was. But right now I'm facing something that looks and feels like a much bigger risk to me. And that does not feel good, at all. But I don't think it's supposed to. I'm pretty sure faith is designed to have a sick-to-your-stomach, I might throw up quality about it. Which is cool, 'cause I've totally got that.

What's even funnier is that i just preached a message on Faith and Works last Sunday. I told everyone that i was preaching to myself and they could just listen. I didn't realize how true I was at the moment.

Got Swine Flu???

OK, This was the first thing we saw when we landed in China. Our Plane got taken over by these creatures!!!

Of course they're not actually creatures, they were health officials. They were looking for people that may have the Swine Flu.

Before we were allowed to exit the plane we had to get checked out by these guys. They had a laser thermometer and they scanned your forehead. If your temp was close then they would use an actual glass thermometer. We found out that if one person on the plane would have even had a fever, whether it was swine flu or not, they would have quarantined all of the passengers for one week!!! Well of course we were all good, When God is for us who can be against us!!!

Don't worry I had to look them up too, just to be sure.

I just wanted to touch a little more on this. Have you ever watched Football on TV? or maybe another live event like a play or music concert? Now... have you ever seen the same event live? There's a difference isn't there? Watching things on TV can never compare to actually being live at the event. Some may think it's close but until you go and experience it first hand you don't really know, do you?

I remember my wife and I going to see our first Nascar Race at Pocono Speedway. It was just cool being there but when the driver started the engines and you could see the cars rocking as they revved the engines, smell the race fuel in the air, hear the engines roar, and feel the horsepower like a bass drum beating on your chest. Until you experience all of that you just can't understand the excitement in the stands.

Well in the field of reaching people and changing lives its the same. Your heart does something amazing when you go Love the Unloved, face to face, on their level. God reveals things to you about true Love that you never will see until you go to that place.

I think that everyone should go and visit a third world country just once. If they did they would gain a new perspective on what being rich really is. Even our poor in the states are richer that all of the poor in other countries.

Far and near... what's next???

Yesterday I wrote a little on the principles of "Far and Near", and how until you actually go and experience or get truly "Near" poverty or something of that nature you will always be "Far" from it. You will never actually understand it. You can read all you want about it and you can watch all the video about it but it doesn't become part of you.

Today I'd like to continue a bit and touch on what happens after you get Near.

Brooke Fraser wrote a song named "Albertine" the pretty much sums it up. You can listen to the song in my player on the bottom of this page. In the song she writes this:

The first experience I had in something like this was in Langfang China at the Philip Hayden Foundation. We were on our way to adopt our daughter Amy and my wife and I decided to visit PHF for three days on our way to get Amy. So there we were standing in a room full of Chinese Orphans, and God kept asking me... "What now? What are you going to do now that you have seen?" Did you that if you make over $40,000 for you annual income that you are in the richest 2% of the worlds population. Think about that... now really let it sink in.

I went out with my pastor tonight and he said something that fits here. "Jesus said the poor will always be with us. But that also means that the rich will be with us too." There is enough money in the world to provide for every need. So why are there still needs in the world???

What are you as a follower of Christ going to do about it?

Now that i have seen i am responsible. So now i will continue to write stories about our recent trip. I will tell the world.
